And if Ukraine surrenders now it will only be inflating the ego of a psychopath.  Living under the control of Russia rather than an alliance with western powers would not be economically and socially beneficial to Ukraine. After ww2 the western bloc saw rapid industrialization and development thanks to the Marshall plan while the eastern bloc under the iron curtain of Russia had to stagnate. Even after the fall of the iron curtain countries are still far behind their western counterparts.  Even countries like Estonia became a  developed country only after separation from USSr  and opening themselves to the west. It is in the best interest of Ukraine that they ally themself with the west rather than the oligarchy of Russia. Surrendering would just make conditions worse.They will have to live under Russia for a significant time. Ukraine is not fighting just for itself it is fighting against imperialism and dictatorship. If Russia followed your advice when the predecessor of Putin invaded them in 1941 we all would be living under the Third Reich.</p></blockquote><p></p>
