Message: <blockquote data-quote="Pessimist" data-source="post: 25250340" data-attributes="member: 566496">hmm. a quick check of chinadaily december yielded no news regarding the new virus. but WHO says that they've been informed by chinese government of this in december 31st. china might have tried to keep a low profile in the beginning. still they have been immensely successful in handling the situation. western countries failed because they refused to take necessary actions at right time. they were busy making fun of china and priding themselves in their ideology preaching how dictatorship has failed chinese people fantasizing how their democracy will save their countries from anything like that. if china is truly responsible for this outbreak then all the countries, specially the neighboring ones, should be affected by this. but we can see many countries taking the situation seriously and making necessary arrangements to keep it under control. doesnt that prove that there's something wrong with the west? after all that's how venerating personal liberty and democracy above everything will give u. so it's their fault they couldnt handle it properly. a new virus could have originated in europe, north america or anywhere. what are they suppose to do then? blaming the sheriff for failing to contain it within his area?west has replaced taking actions with lengthy political debates. they were debating on where to draw the line between personal liberty and societal needs when china was busy getting things done.im not sure about destroying lab records. but they published the whole genome as soon as they can. it took them 5 months to publish the genome of SARS-CoV that caused sars outbreak. chinese were quick compared to that. besides china is not responsible for keeping west safe from viruses. it's not china's fault that viruses evolve. bil gates said world is not ready to handle a situation like this half a decade ago. west wasnt prepared for this. neither was china. but china was successful and west failed. that's the simple truth. west need to learn how to take the responsibility of handling a pandemic themselves. </blockquote>
