In 2012 I hit the road with Mitt Romney performing at many of his rally's and events. The only other pop musician I'm aware of who did this was Kid Rock. This doesn't make me a hero. Heroes are our troops and the emergency workers of 9-11. If you asked me would I have made the same public declarations earlier in my career, when I had less security, I honestly can't say. I certainly understand the decision of those who keep their R leanings buried in Hollywood. All this to say, I've taken a few risks to say what I believe because I love our country and I believe conservative principles give the best chance of happiness and prosperity for all Americans. Like most of us (whatever your political bent)...I'm scared about the future we are leaving for our children. Why write this mild rant? Because of Donald Trump. I have voted Republican my whole life. If Donald Trump is the Republican Nominee that trend will end. I believe Donald Trump is dangerous for our country, a fraudulent conservative, and frankly...just a bad person. I believe another Clinton will be horrible for America. Hillary, to me, is the worst thing about American politics and if her last name wasn't Clinton would likely be facing indictment instead of affirmation. I could list the hundred reasons I think Hillary Clinton is bad for our country but I won't. This post is not ammunition for another left/right comment war on this page. You all know I respect your views and enjoy the open dialogue that is the heartbeat of our democracy. I'm simply saying Never Trump. If it's Clinton and Trump I'm sitting this one out. To my R friends that say that's a vote for Hillary I'm sorry. If Donald Trump wins the R nomination I will be changing my lifelong affiliation to Independent.
