My guess is you need a type B visa for conferences.  Make sure you have the invitation letter ready, and all tickets purchased for the event (if it's not a free conference of course). If YOU get paid for attending, that has to be a business visa at very least. This would be a hell lot easier of you already have a Schengen or UK visa on your passport. Visa fee about 25k, just a little bit less than the Ausi.</blockquote>
