Let's take a hypothetical situation to explain thiseg:You used to bill 4000 USD to your clients and used to pay 300,000 to your dev. So when the exchange rate was Rs 200, you earned 800,000 as a company and gave 300,000 to the devBilled value = 4000 USD = 800,000 LKRDev pay = 300,000LKR = 1500 USDCompany income/gain = 500,000LKR = 2500 USDNow you still bill 4000 USD, and the exchange rate is Rs  300~ so as a company you gain 1,200,000.Billed value = 4000 USD = 1,200,000LKRDev pay = 300,000 LKR = 1000 USDCompany income/gain = 900,000LKR = 3000 USD400,000 LKR  without doing anything but just because the economy and exchange rate got shitty.  If you are pocketing this difference with no remorse you as a company suck ass.Edit: Adding in the calculation for a company with pegged salaries to make it clearer.Billed Value = 400USD = 1,2000,000 LKRInitial Dev pay package = 300,000LKR = 1500 USD~Dev pay with exchange rate = 1500 USD x 300 = 450,000 LKRCompany income/gain = 750,000 LKR = 2500 USD (same as before but a gain in local context)^Here the exchange rate gain is divided between both the dev and the company and is way better than pocketing the whole thing for your gain</blockquote>
