Was your Army general a person in charge or authorized for sole/ independent decion making? specially during the war. Wasn't him to use his line reports to design and plan the war strategies and put it forward to his direct reports ( your president I presume) for approval? If your president ( commandent of your Army) can deny or accept the proposals? Hence How come the Army general becomes a hero over the team effort and leadership over him supported the total course?
