Keep on using 1000IU or 2000 IU a day. THis is safe. HIgh doses were IV administered during the first SARS infection. It does seem to protect the older people. Generally Vitamin D offers benefits with respiratory diseases even though the exact mechanism is not clear.</p><p></p><p>Many people are deficient and don’t realize it because of no symptoms and doctors don’t routinely check vitamin D levels.</p><p></p><p>All in our household were taking 2000IU after Covid.</p><p></p><p>FYI.. here are my results over a considerable period.</p><p></p><p>29/09/15 Vit D level 56 nmol/L</p><p>29/05/20 Vit D level 64 nmol/L</p><p>19/05/22 Vit D level 70 nmol/L</p><p>14/09/24 Vit D level 96 nmol/L</p><p></p><p><strong>Do NOT take high strength Vitamin D supplements unless you have specific issues that might need a prescription high dose. </strong>Too much Vitamin D can be bad as it causes Vit D toxicity.</p><p></p><p>PPS: There are simple low cost (around 10 USD or so) over the counter rapid self tests now available.
