Message: <blockquote data-quote="chanaka001" data-source="post: 5760866" data-attributes="member: 4233">Orgin of Great Martial Art අංගම්Thank You Amila and Yassas,This detail's according to my gurus (G.Karunapala, Dosthora M Warnasuriya) and some ancient palm leaves (පුස්කෝල පොත්) belongs to my gurus.Pioneer of Hela Yaksha Rajawansa and also great great grand father (නත්තා) of Emperor RAVANA is King MAHASAMMATHA (මහා සම්මත) he was a great farmer and a fighter who can fight from his bare hands (without weapons) He invented this great art of angam by observing wild animals (tiger, bare, deer, monkey..ect)but it contains only very basic movements and techniques but the inventor of advance ANGAM and ILLANGAM is MAHA IRSHI PULASTHI (Grand Father of Emperor RAVANA) he add more advance techniques, movements, weapons (ILLANGAM Kala) plus nila shashthra (නිල ශාස්ත්‍ර) and Maru Kala (මරු කලා) to ANGAM. and also he was a great doctor too so he add  this maru kala (මරු කලා) and nila shasthra (නිල ශාස්ත්‍ර) from his medical knowledge.  But the Golden Era of ANGAM is Emperor Ravana's time he add more advance techniques ,movements (ex- RAVANA SELLAM..ect) and weapons (ex- PATI KADUWA පටි කඩුව...ect) Emperor RAVANA also add more advance things to MARU KALA using his medical knowledge  (Ex- චන්ද්‍ර කලාවට අනුව ශරීරයේ මරැ සිටින තැන අධ්‍යනය කොට මරු නිලයන්ට පහර දීම, පොහොය අනුව කල්තබා මැරෙන්ට හෝ අඩපන වීමට පහර දීම ..ect) and for more he wrote great books (පුස්කෝල පොත්) about this MARU KALA (මරු කලා), Nila Shashtra (නිල ශාස්ත්‍ර) and ANGAM (Ex- දේහධම්ම විදූම් ශාස්ත්‍රය) ( i saw copy of this book from my own eyes) ..According to my knowledge this is the story of origin of ANGAM and ILLANGAM.If you have any question regarding ANGAM/ILLANGAM please post here i'll try to answer you according to my knowledge.Thank You.Chanaka001 <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/default/happy.gif"  class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":)" title="Happy    :)" data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
