For example, if you have a Geforce 7600GT + 1GB RAM and 7600GS + 2GB RAM with everything else being identical, for games, 1GB RAM + 7600GT is a lot faster. You won't get image stuttering because of paging effect with 2GB, of course. But to be honest, on XP, with 1GB RAM, I can play every games except battlefield 2 and 2142 without stuttering at 1280x960 and full details. Only if you play games like FEAR, Oblivion, Battlefield 2/2142 at 1280x960 resolution or more, you won't notice performance let down in GAMES.
