He only sang his songs for the   contest, just like the other contestants who sang the songs of praveenayas.   As for Victor Ratnayake's  golden voice , it is all history now ! He was my   favourite too, in the 60s & 70s when he sang lilting #s like " soka senasum "   & " pawe wala ". Even " pembara madhu " is enchanting !   But just listen to him today , his voice trembles, & does not sound so sweet as it    used to be.    Instead of living in the past, I pin my hopes on Amila to become the local Jim    Reeves in the not so distant future.  Just go to You Tube & listen to " apatai me    mihithale " the BNS # he sang at the sss final.  Such a soothing voice is yet    to emerge in the music scene. Now do u say that he is trying to be like BNS ?   Amila need not try to be like anyone else, because he is himself. The truth is   that nobody else can be like him !    Wal Bado, this is all in good spirit , no offence meant ok ?   If u get the chance go & see amila perform live. I have seen him @ 4 shows.    He gets better by the day. I am such an ardent fan of his , I have collected    almost all of his videos.
