When Anton LaVey wrote that book he intended to show the emptyness of then church practices, it was his personal experiences with the church behavior whic made him go alternative. Satanism calls for materialism while most religions focus on spiritual gain. If u read the satanist bible u'll see u can just take it as a parody, a light read. If anyone is gonna attempt those sacrifice rituals there need to be serious checks about the mentality. There should be limits and within those limits satanism exisiting is not a problem. I may earn many flames if i drag buddhism into this but i'm ready for anything, in buddhism we do certain rituals such as boodhi pooja, katine and blah blah. . .i don't feel anything spiritual in it. The true spirit lies in the teaching and u don't need to go to the temple everyday and recite gaatha as long as u'r true and follow the path. (that's where i see the limit should be enforced on religion(belief) and ritual douches)</blockquote>
