Based on the estimates, the game sold 3.6 million units in the US, 1.4 million in UK, 350,000 in Canada and over a million units in other European markets.UK Retailer HMV reported that keen gamers started to arrive up to 12 hours before a sale could be made.HMV Head of Games, Tim Ellis, said that this latest instalment is set to become 'the fastest and biggest-selling title in games history.'With its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare two, grossing more than one billion dollars in sales, similar predictions have been made for Black Ops.Mr Ellis expects the hotly anticipated game to become 'not just the most popular game ever, but an iconic release that will take gaming on to a new level.'UPDATE: 12/11/2010Activision has revealed earlier today that Call of Duty: Black Ops by  Treyarch has sold 5.6 million units during its first day out. Black Ops  breaks Modern Warfare 2’s 4.7 million.   According to the press release, Black Ops has generated $360 million  just in sales across the U.S. and U.K. Analysts expects Black Ops to top  $1 billion in sales this by the end of this holiday.</blockquote>
