යුරෝපා රටවල් කීපයක මෙන්ම, කැනඩාවේත්, ව්‍යාප්ත වන Monkeypox වයිරසය ඇමෙරිකාවට පැමිණ ඇතැයි ඇමෙරිකානු වසංගත රෝග පාලනය සහ වැළැක්වීමේ මධ්‍යස්ථානය පැවැසීය.

වසංගත රෝග පාලනය සහ වැළැක්වීමේ මධ්‍යස්ථානය නිකුත් කළ නිවේදනයක දැක්වෙන්නේ, පළමු Monkeypox රෝගියා හමුවී ඇත්තේ මැසචුසෙට් ජනදයෙන් බවය.

එම රෝගියා මේ වනවිට නිරෝධායනයට යොමු කර ඇති බවත්, සමාජයේ Monkeypox ව්‍යාප්තියක් සිදු නොවන බවත්, රෝගියාගේ තත්ත්වය ද බරපතල නොවන බවත් ඇමෙරිකන් වසංගත රෝග පාලනය සහ වැළැක්වීමේ මධ්‍යස්ථානය නිකුත් කළ නිවේදනයේ පැහැදිලි කර තිබේ. හමුවුණු එම රෝගියා කැනඩාවේ ක්විබෙක් (Quebec City) පළාතේ සංචාරයකට ගොස් පැමිණි අයකු බව ද පැවැසෙයි.

මේ වනවිට ‘Monkeypox’ වයිරස රෝගය පැතිරෙන රටවල් වන්නේ කැනඩාව, මහා බ්‍රිතාන්‍යය, පෘතුගාලය සහ ස්පාඤ්ඤයයි. ස්පාඤ්ඤයෙන් වාර්තා වූ ‘Monkeypox’ රෝගීන් ගණන 49 ක් බව විදෙස් මාධ්‍ය වාර්තා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.

ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානය පවසන ආකාරයට පළමු වරට Monkeypox රෝගය 1970 වර්ෂයේදී කොංගෝ රාජ්‍යයෙන් වාර්තා වී තිබෙනවා. මෙම වෛරසය මීයන් ගෙන් සහ වඳුරන් ගෙන් මිනිසුන්ට පළමුව ව්‍යාප්ත වන්නට ඇති බවයි සැක කෙරෙන්නේ.

But there is a FDA approved new vaccine. It's made from a vaccinia virus called Modified Vaccinia Ankara - which is non replicating (it cannot cause disease or replicate in human cells) - but it protects from both smallpox & monkeypox.

The waning population immunity associated with discontinuation of smallpox vaccination has established the landscape for the resurgence of monkeypox. The smallpox vaccine provided the cross protection for monkeypox.

There are new cases reported, even Australia has reported cases arriving from London & AbuDhabi.
If it spreads the vaccine makers will make money again.
The US Government already placed an order for $119 Million Dollars worth of freeze dried vaccines with an option to buy an amount worth $180 Million Dollars further. (approx 13 Million doses in total)
