We need to get a TV that supports USB to watch movies

you don't want to buy a separate TV for that purpose.
just download a software and watch it through online.

But my actual need is to have a TV that supports USB, this would be wall mounted in a room. Since it is going to be wall mounted , using a PC with internet connection would not be applicable for this situation as i see

All the new LCD TVs has a USB port but not sure they can play video files than photos or audio...

Yep kinkon, i believe all LCD TV with usb can play audio and photos, but only some are capable of running videos

usb stick can only play with dvd player which is cheap. Usb on tv do not suport video . Check dvd player with divx and mpeg4 . So you can download movies

there is a netwrkd version too it's much costly
or simply plug an old pc...

Samsung one has usb.., cnt remember the model... my cousing has one... USB support, i played a mkv movie in that.... it was awesome!!

Ah! good point. Didn't know about the nbox , seems like a good option
But is it available in sri lanka ? Do i need to purchase it from ebay if i am going to ?

Got a singer LED 24 inch TV. It runs movies with subtitles without any issue
