Okay this is the thing. If my UK visa expires in the 3rd week of Oct, but im coming back to Lanka in Aug till like 1st week of Oct, should I renew the VISA from Lanka or UK?
Which do you think is better ? Applying from here or the UK?

Could you explain a bit more about the visa type you have. Anyway I hardly think you can extend VISA out side UK. WHy cant you extend it before going to SL?

Less hassle to extend the visa when your there right ? Here you have the 15 days waiting time and all that nah.

Student Visa.
I 1st applied from Lanka, likewise why cant i extend it from here too.
hmmm I can, but i really want to come to Lanka in Aug. if i extend it from there who knows how long it will take... plus i cant renew it till i get my results, that is like in the end of Aug.

Of course everyone applied thier first entry clearence outside UK even I did the same but extending or switiching is a different matter. Thats why they categorise applicants as incountry and out of country. I'll check the web site and ask few friends then I'll get back to you

Yeah sure. oh and i heard the new policy has something to do with having to come back to one's own country to extend the visa

I dont think thats possible because you should atleast have 3 months visa left otherwise there is a huge chance that they ll send you back. This hasnt been said anywhere on the web site but its a fact
