Battlefield 3 has had the highest-selling launch of any EA game, the publishing giant announced yesterday, with internal estimates placing first week sales at five million globally.
The first person shooter sequel went on sale on October 25th 2011, stealing a march on arch rival Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, scheduled for release on November 8th 2011.
'Server stability was solid in the first weekend, delivering EA's highest-ever usage rates,' EA's press release revealed.
'While some players experienced intermittent disruption of online services due to high volume, internal estimates show that servers and service uptime stabilized to roughly 98.9 per cent throughout the weekend, ensuring that players were connected,' it stated.
