A so-called divine healer, dabbling in witch craft was found strangled on a beach at Akkaraipattu yesterday, some six weeks after he was abducted from his residence at Ragama, police said today.
They said that Mohamed Niyaz, also known as ‘Sudu Seeya’, had on his person some Rs. three million worth of gold on the night he was abducted.
According to police there were several burn marks on the victim that suggests that the man had been tortured before been done to death.
The man who practiced with craft both here and overseas is believed to have earned millions of rupees from his clients in return for divine favours.
However there are also allegations that the victim had also maintained links with local drug cartels, according to police.
