I would like to, but, unfortunately, any information online about Sinhala alphabet does not really go into detail about it's history.
Also, about 10 years ago, there was a website from Alu Vihara which had a chart showing the evoulution of Sinhala letters, but, before I could print that chart out, the Alu Vihara website disappeared.
Maybe someone here with a scholarly knowledge about the history of the Sinhala alphabet can provide us with a detailed information and about how the Sinhala alphabet developed and charts showing the evolution of the Sinhala script.

ඍ is considered as a "raswaswara" and also as a "moordhaja aksharayak"
the name of this alphabet is "irukaaranshaya"

Actually, it is of Sanskrit origin. Also I understand that previously, say, about 200-300 years ago, ඍ was written slightly different from how it is written now and also was not included at one point in the main mishra Sinhala hodiya.
That is very interesting! I always knew ඍ as "iruyanna". But this name, "irukaaramshaya", I never heard.
