Sahoo, I have to say few oversights what I found here...,
(This is regarding the full video)
01. in 10.27 minutes the presenter says "The Buddha died at the age of 84", is wrong as per the buddhist texts. He died at the age of 80 instead. ("Ahaṃ kho panānanda, etarahi jiṇṇo vuddho mahallako addhagato vayoanuppatto. Āsītiko me vayo vattati..." - Mahāparinibbānasuttaṃ - Deegha Nikayo)
02. A professor explains on Three jewels of Buddhism in 11.35 minutes says "The first jewel is Buddha, and the second is Shangha..." which is also wrong. Second jewel is Dhamma, and Sangha comes in third.
03. The presenter tries to mix the ideas saying "conflict between Hindu tamil minority and Buddhist sinhalese majority.." in 30.38 minutes of the film. The conflict / crisis was between LTTE terrorists and Sinhalese, which is now over and was NOT between Hindus and Buddhists as she claims out to be. This is rather mixing up ideas leading to the confusion of the listener making them to hate Sri lankan Buddhists and Hindus in their religious conflicts. BBC made a huge mistake there..! Maybe, since Sri Lanka's war is over they might be suffering from lack of income resources.
As a whole the documentary is unbiased and balance, except minor glitches we mentioned above. And it's quite exciting to see the 7th wonder of this film, "Hsi Lai Temple" of Los angeles, USA, a mark of expansion of the intellectual mind - Buddhism & Meditation.
Theruvan Saranayi..!!
