Need to buy a Laptop

Guys,

I'm planing to buy a laptop for my daily use, please give me your recomandations on what should i buy.

- I need to run Oracle sql developer with no lags.
- Light weight and heavy use.
- Hoping to have a good battery life atleast 2 to 4 hrs .
- 4 GB Ram with core i5
- Windows or Mac

I was thinking the Macbook air or macbook pro, but need to know if most development software support mac.
For windows what is the best brand.

That's what i also thought, i should be able to take it where i travel
