Look i failed PM and EM getting 26 and 42 respectively. but in the next attempt i made both with ease. Do pastpapers as much as you can. So nothing becomes tough. Get Console through so that FM FO won't be as hard as PM or EM :) Don't rely on the Tutor predictions. Do the PAST PAPERS from 2010-2013 at full and see if you can write the answers to the latest paper alone (Provided you have a sound theory knowledge)

FYI Gajendra is the Best as far as you study hard
Thariq will be the best as far as you work hard

but people think just because you go to those people you gonna pass..It is not...
(I go to WISDOM from the foundation and for us HARDWORK+Whatever the lecturere's name= PASS)

No idea about the new syllabus, because I did exams under 2005 syllabus. For me Financial subjects are bit difficult. But for some people management subjects are getting difficult to pass. It depends on your capacity. For me, Om & IM (2005 syllabus) got easy to pass. Btw, I have kept CIMA on hold at this time and planning to countinue with pending subjects.

And the most important thing to keep in mind is, it is better to study CIMA while working full-time. Then you can apply practical scenarios when you are studying as well as facing to the exam.

    Hope this helps....

very Valuable input to the discussion board..that is what we want ...
so summary from ur experience is

    1. do not rely a lot on lecturer
    2. self study is what matter but good to have some guidance from lecturer
    3. be thorough with pastpapers

thanks again..keep updating about ur experiences and views..lets keep this going and take this to next level....

Awesome contribution macho...so basically ur tip is to do CIMA while working where u have practical knowledge as back up...

I highly agree with ur comment that subject easiness depends on students capacity...

would u like to share any special study technique u used or any comment about lecturers?

    You are welcome dear friend.

Actually my believe is 60% of study weight should be put from us. Remaining 40% can be expect by the guidence given by the lecturer. Why I am saying like that is self study will not work well if you are totally new to the subject or the level of CIMA. If you are going to do a re-sit, then self study will be sufficient.

When coming to study techniques, I never relied on theory or study text as well as not entirely depended on what letuers taught us at the class. Usually I revised my notes few times and especially kept in my mind only the key points of the important topics. Then I could elaborate them at the exam by adding my opinions along with the key points. For me, this method worked. But this will be vary from person to person.

According to my experience, Gajendra Liyenaratchchi, M. Thariq, Sugheeth Patabandige and Hasitha Premartne are really good lectuers. I am not sure whether Mr. Hasitha and Mr. Sugeeth are still doing lectures. Anyway they know how to teach teoratical points to students in simple way.

Keep it up buddy...exactly it is up to the individual to decide his right recipe..
Plus.. Hasitha is no more in to lecturing but Sugeeth is still there...
I 100% agree with your comment on re-sit scenario

The FM and FO syllabus will change with the updates to the IFRS and IAS (currently ACCA has the best us to date syllabus so CIMA wanna tally with them)
Expect a syllabus change in 2014...As i have heard things get changed in every 4 years :)

crucial information machan..because based on the news there is ahuge competition between CIMA and ACCA globally...

plus this will be a key point specially to people coming from non-financial backgrounds (Engineering undergrads, IT people,etc...
    )

Hi Doonga..ur welcome on ur comment...let me ask u few things...
where u stay buddy ? and do u do any other degree?
and how do u select the lecturers? depending on the name or easiness for you?

i am just asking these things because based on the lot of comments from this thread, majority is not bothered about the lecturer but really focused on self studying...
