No religion can not co-exist with science and this is true to the Buddhism too.

Buddhism does co-exist with science. If you go in to Quantum physics, the similarities are amazing. Modern science is not a matured field. The next step to understanding the truth is quantum physics. And the more science mature, more it get close to Buddhism. There's only one truth in this world. Science or a religion, if they reach the truth, one day they will converge.:)

Buddhism isn't a religion, thought you already knew that.

Yes you are right in a way. But all religions try to explain their own version of truth. So religion is a name or a concept we humans invented to identify their version of truth. I don't want to put buddhism in the same level of science right now because science is still taking first steps to understanding truth. So if you don't like calling buddhism as a religion, calling it as the truth might the best option. :)

buddhism also a religion, But its teachings are more likely a philosophy.

Because buddhism also has what mentioned below. same as the other religions.

    1. Sacred places
    2. sermons
    3. gods
    4. funerary services
    5. festivals
    6. meditations
    7. arts
    8. Mythology
    9. religious laws
    10. ethics
    11. sacred histories
    12. lifestyle
    13. cultural systems
    14 beliefs

and many more. So it is also a religion.

Buddhism is a way of life it doesn't demand blind faith, it doesn't even have a system of faith or doesn't demand worshiping a supernatural being.

May be I am wrong but a Buddhists may be able to explain this. :)

As I said earlier machan, we don't have to get limited to a word. Different people understand the word Religion in different ways. Calling it a religion or something else doesn't change what's in buddhism.

Religion is far away from science as it has to be invent or the find evidence for understand the religion..........

also it may not be able to invent or find anything which are stated in religion.....

so science should be co-exit not the religion.....
