Facebook ban in Sri Lanka – likely or unlikely? – TRC explains
Rumours are circulating that the social media network Facebook will be banned, after several incidents of student suicides pertaining to Facebook were reported recently.
According to the TRC, rumours of the social media network, Facebook being banned in Sri Lanka are completely false.
The Director General of the Commission, Anusha Palpita said that that the government has in no way taken a decision to ban Facebook.
