Missing Malaysia Airlines flight: Ex-BA pilot says 'plane crashed between Madagascar

A former British Airways pilot believes the missing Malaysia Airline Flight MH370 is "thousands of miles" from where search parties are looking.

Retired Alastair Rosenschein claims the jet and all 239 passengers has plunged into the Indian Ocean half way between Madagascar and Australia.

Mr Rosenschein, who is now an aviation commentator, spoke on BBC Radio 5 Live to put forward his theory about the aircraft's mysterious disappearance.

He claimed the Malaysian jetliner is around 5,000 miles away from where rescuers are looking in the South China Sea on a course set by the pilots before the crew passed out from a drop in cabin pressure.

Asked what his theory was, Mr Rosenschein told the BBC: "Well the one I put forward was that the aircraft may have suffered a depressurisation.

"The initial reaction for pilots in that case would be to put on oxygen masks immediately.

"However, had they failed to do that the next option would be to turn off the airway in order to do a rapid descent.

"Without the oxygen masks they would have they would have passed out within a few seconds.

"That would have left the aircraft on autopilot heading in whichever direction they had turned the aircraft on the autopilot.

"I'm suggesting that they would have made that initial heading a reciprocal one back towards Kuala Lumpur airport.

"That doesn't mean they turned the aircraft directly and exactly toward Kuala Lumpur airport it could quite happily have been a parallel track with the airway.

"With the fuel on board that would put the aircraft finally as it ran out out of fuel, with everybody unconscious on board somewhere around the mid-Indian Ocean which is thousands of miles away from where they're looking at present.

"The worst case scenario for the location of the aircraft would be half-way between Madagascar and Australia, a very very difficult area to search and of course a huge area."

US Officials Have 'Indication' Malaysia Airline Crashed into Indian Ocean

    March 13, 2014

U.S. officials have an "indication" the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner may have crashed in the Indian Ocean and is moving the USS Kidd to the area to begin searching.
It will take another 24 hours to move the ship into position, a senior Pentagon official told ABC News.
"We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean," the senior official said.
The official said there were indications that the plane flew four or five hours after disappearing from radar and that they believe it went into the water.

no doubt that flight crashed into the ocean , Malaysian government and all other neighbor countries including USA and China know that , but they are not confirming it because they need to cool down the situation if not this will be a huge affect on all over the air line traveling in the world. :(

(Reuters) - Employees of Freescale Semiconductor who were on a Malaysia Airlines flight presumed to have crashed were doing sophisticated work at the U.S. chipmaker, a company spokesman said on Sunday.
The 20 Freescale employees, among 239 people on flight MH370, were mostly engineers and other experts working to make the company's chip facilities in Tianjin, China, and Kuala Lumpur more efficient, said Mitch Haws, vice president, global communications and investor relations.
"These were people with a lot of experience and technical background and they were very important people," Haws said. "It's definitely a loss for the company."
None of Austin, Texas-based Freescale's most senior executives were on board the Boeing Co 777-200ER airliner that vanished from radar screens about an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing on Saturday.
The employees who were on board, 12 from Malaysia and eight from China, came from a range of disciplines and they were part of a broad push by Chief Executive Officer Gregg Lowe to make Freescale more efficient and cost effective, Haws said.
Top-quality engineers are hard to come by for chipmakers and other technology companies, and losing them can have a major impact on business, regardless of their seniority.
While the employees on the flight account for less than 1 percent of Freescale's global workforce of 16,800 people, they were working toward the same goals and their loss will reverberate throughout Freescale, Haws said.
They had been streamlining facilities in Tianjin and Kuala Lumpur that Freescale uses for testing and packaging microchips used in automobiles, consumer products, telecommunications infrastructure and industrial equipment.
On Sunday, Freescale was organizing transportation and accommodation for the 20 staff members' families, as well as providing grief counseling, Haws said.
One of the chipmaker's long-time competitors, Texas Instruments, tweeted on Saturday: "We extend our condolences to the families and coworkers of the @Freescale employees aboard Malaysia Airlines flight MH370."

Telecoms executives are >10% of the MH370 victims

Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 370 had disappeared with 227 passengers and 12 crew members on day after the signing of SEA-ME-WE 5 agreement in Kuala Lumpur. Ms. Hualian (Happy) Zhang, the VP of Network Planning for China Telecom Global, was among the ill-fated passengers of KL-Beijing flight. Besides, two persons from the Ministry, two persons from Huawei and one person from another telecom vendor were on board. Ms. Zhang was the only submarine cable professional in this group. Submarine cable industry veteran Sunil Tagare has paid tribute to Ms. Zhang:
She was responsible for the largest expansion of China Telecom in the submarine cable industry with investments in more than half a dozen new cables….Just as her name suggests, Happy was a very friendly person. She was very passionate about the industry. I have never met anyone with bigger dreams and a very calm demeanor. She was also a quick study, had deep knowledge of the industry and open to new ideas…. This is a big loss for China Telecom as well as the submarine cable industry.
Meanwhile, Freescale Semiconductor has confirmed that 20 of its employees were in the Flight MH370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Twelve are from Malaysia and eight are from China. It has been reported that some of the staff were senior management, although the firm has not confirmed their identities yet.
Top-quality engineers are hard to come by for chipmakers and other technology companies, and losing them can have a major impact on business, regardless of their seniority. Mitch Haws, vice president of Freescale’s global communications and investor relations said, “These were people with a lot of experience and technical background and they were very important people. It’s definitely a loss for the company.” Reuters reports.

Still no hope in finding the plane. Lot of conflicting information. But it is a great time for conspiracy theories, also Aliens until plane and black box is found.

Pentagon officials say missing MH370 flight crashed into Indian Ocean

A search by two Vietnamese aircraft responding to information provided by a Chinese satellite has failed to locate objects suspected of being wreckage from missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370.
Aircraft repeatedly circled the area over the South China Sea but were unable to detect any objects, according to a Reuters journalist, who flew aboard a Antonov 26 cargo plane for three hours as part of the search.
Vietnamese and Malaysian planes were scanning waters where a Chinese government agency website said a satellite had photographed three “suspicious floating objects” on Sunday.
The location was close to where the plane lost contact with air traffic control.
The search for the missing jetliner expanded on Wednesday to cover a swathe of Southeast Asia, from the South China Sea to India’s territorial waters, with authorities no closer to explaining what happened to the plane or the 239 people on board.
During a new press conference, this morning, the Malaysian Transport Minister denied all latest reports on the missing plane possible location, including the Chinese satellite photos, allegedly, according the Minister, “released by accident” or the reports from The Wall Street Journal that indicate that the aircraft could have fled for several hours after disappearing from radars on Saturday.
The official assured that “Malaysia has nothing to hide” as the search efforts will continue to be focused on the South China Sea, the minister told reporters.

USS Kidd sent to Indian Ocean after ‘indication’ of Malaysian jet crash

“We have an indication the plane went down in the Indian Ocean,” the official said, to ABC.
That comes on the heels of a report that found the plane may actually have flown between four and five hours after it disappeared from radar.
The announcement also comes just after Malaysian authorities said they expanded their search to the Andaman Sea for missing plane parts and asked for India to lend a helping hand. The plane was carrying 239 passengers when it went missing.
