This is by far one of the best movies ever made.

It shows the destructive nature of Abrahamic Religions. First came the Jews, then the Christians. Now comes the Muslims.

This movie portrays the story of a Roman Mathematician (A lady) and how Christians destroyed the Roman civilization by sword.

You can get a clear idea of what's happening in the world these days with Islam

    From wikipedia:
Agora (Spanish: Ágora) is a 2009 Spanish English-language historical drama film directed by Alejandro Amenábar and written by Amenábar and Mateo Gil. The biopic stars Rachel Weisz as Hypatia, a female mathematician, philosopher and astronomer in late 4th-century Roman Egypt, who investigates the flaws of the geocentric Ptolemaic system and the heliocentric model that challenges it. Surrounded by religious turmoil and social unrest, Hypatia struggles to save the knowledge of classical antiquity from destruction. Max Minghella co-stars as Davus, Hypatia's father's slave, and Oscar Isaac as Hypatia's student, and later prefect of Alexandria, Orestes.
The story uses historical fiction to highlight the relationship between religion and science amidst the decline of Greco-Roman polytheism and the Christianization of the Roman Empire. The title of the film takes its name from the agora, a gathering place in ancient Greece, similar to the Roman forum. The film was produced by Fernando Bovaira and shot on the island of Malta from March to June 2008. Justin Pollard, co-author of The Rise and Fall of Alexandria (2007), was the historical advisor for the film.

This is based on a true story.

a brief account on the main character Hypatia, a Roman Philosopher and a mathematician in Alexandria:
The mathematician and philosopher Hypatia of Alexandria was the daughter of the mathematician Theon Alexandricus (c. 335 – c. 405).[10] She was educated in Athens. Around AD 400, she became head of the Platonist school at Alexandria,[11][12][13] where she imparted the knowledge of Plato and Aristotle to students, including pagans, Christians, and foreigners.[4][14][15]
Although contemporary 5th-century sources identify Hypatia of Alexandria as a practitioner and teacher of the philosophy of Plato and Plotinus, two hundred years later, the 7th-century Egyptian Coptic bishop John of Nikiû identified her as a Hellenistic pagan and that "she was devoted at all times to magic, astrolabes and instruments of music, and she beguiled many people through her Satanic wiles".[16][17] However, not all Christians were as hostile towards her: some Christians even used Hypatia as symbolic of Virtue.[4] The contemporary Christian historiographer Socrates Scholasticus described her in Ecclesiastical History:
There was a woman at Alexandria named Hypatia, daughter of the philosopher Theon, who made such attainments in literature and science, as to far surpass all the philosophers of her own time. Having succeeded to the school of Plato and Plotinus, she explained the principles of philosophy to her auditors, many of whom came from a distance to receive her instructions. On account of the self-possession and ease of manner which she had acquired in consequence of the cultivation of her mind, she not infrequently appeared in public in the presence of the magistrates. Neither did she feel abashed in going to an assembly of men. For all men on account of her extraordinary dignity and virtue admired her the more.[4]
Hypatia corresponded with former pupil Synesius of Cyrene, who was tutored by her in the philosophical school of Platonism and later became bishop of Ptolemais in AD 410, an exponent of the Christian Holy Trinity doctrine.[18] Together with the references by the pagan philosopher Damascius, these are the extant records left by Hypatia's pupils at the Platonist school of Alexandria

Burning of the ancient library of Alexandria is known to be one of the greatest tragedies of the mankind. with it went the 1000s years of work of ancient philosophers, mainly the fundamental principles understood and recorded by then mathematicians. it is said that mankind dragged themselves back by few 100 years by destroying this knowledge,. quite literally had this library not destroyed in the name of religion, we'd have gone to the moon a 100 years earlier.
