yes linea and most of punto is made in India, but there are italian, UK made ones also.
maintenance shape car eke, triptronic gear eke issue eka hadanna ecchara cost eka yanne naha.

Dont go for euro/italian if you want more km per liter of gasoline.. also dont go for euro cars if you cant spend money if something breaks.. simply Euro/Italian cars are not for the cheap ones.

i own a Fiat Bravo since 6 years and i dont intent to sell mine. also i do drive hard occasionally. my mileage is like 135,000. does like 6km/l in colombo with hard driving and traffic. outstations does like 10km+/l.

engines and body and frames arebulletproof than that of any japanese.

Repair wise, the parts can be get down from dealers, internet or even with the reputed fiat/alfa romeo specialists in sri lanka. I get down from ebay uk, but its the same price as getting down from the mechanics.

My car really comes alive after 2500rpm. can reach 60kmp/h in 1st gear itself, but i have gone upto 50 with 6000rpm.

recently replaced front shocks and tuned the engine, replaced fuel pressure thing etc. Note that you cant buy parts like any japanese vehicle. The car wont give any issues if looked after properly. also parts wont break down easily.

There are maka-baases in SL who ruin the fiat/alfas. so give to a reputed one or a good mechanic who knows the way in and out.

Reliability wise, it depends how you treat the car and care for it. always try to put genuine parts, dont buy japanese ones and alter it and put into any fiat/alfa romeos.

There is also a car club for Italian cars in SL, good for networking with other people in the field..

Spare Parts, Pachikawattha janatha motors, nelum motors, ebay, wheels lanka auto spa, ITMC etc.

Repair centers, ITMC - rajagiriya, Next Gear - Udahamulla, Noel - thalawathugoda, wheels auto spa - peliyagoda

hello ssdk, I've heard that linea is made in India. is it true? and does the diesel engine make loud noise?
thanks for the info

well diesel engines are noisy and Linea is no exception but i have not observed the noise as an excessive. how ever interior is decently insulated so most of the noise at normal city driving conditions are not much of a issue (below 2500rpm). however if you are driving above 3000rpm it will be noticeable.

also keep in mind none of the Linea's and Indian made Punto's are equipped with large engines so performance is tricky. all the Linea's are equipped with 1.3l multi jet diesel or 1.4l fire petrol engine. so performance is sluggish but on the bright side you get 12-14 km/l in the city and 18 - 20+ km/l out of the city.

i agree with gihan798114 and strength wise though Linea is Indian made it is no exception. i experienced it first hand when my friends Linea rammed in to a truck. i was a passenger and later i witnessed the dismantling of the front end of car, trust me Indians have not cut back on safety.
