They should have keep all the army bases in Jaffna and north, north is not stable yet , last year during my vacation i have visited to jaffna and few other places in north. honestly most of the people have no idea about the country and the government. some still believe in LTTE. this is not good thing also during my experience i have realize people in there, they cant stand alone as one unity as one country military and government should help them, peace is there because army is there, but still tamil LTTE supporters are there. removing the military base's and left them alone will not be a good idea and it will risk the entire a north and calling for a chaos, if some one says north having a military control that is a complete false statement. you should have visit and confirmed by yourself. i believe these false statements were published by LTTE supporters.also there are good things, i saw happening in north new shops, medical centers, hospitals ,restaurants and buildings were build, and some schools have been re-opened.and also construction vehicles are moving on the road , true there is some progress in development bbmprocess but don't know how it is now
I think Salawa Kosgama people didn't believe in LTTE. So why this camp was there??

So where do you suggest this camp should be located? Mars?
Either camp or people shuold be removed if this was a ammunition dump. Why get a risk?? If this was 100% safe why not held this in Colombo or Katunayake or Kandy. They knew this thing would explode and to minimize damage and finacial loss placed it to Kosgama where least damage could occur yet its not safeset.

Camp was almost removed. It's too sad that last minutes such disaster occurred. This camp should have moved to Vavuniya.

I don't have a problem either situations. But salawa people have???

They asked to relocate the ammunition dump when the government decided to build it. However government didn't do it for some reasons.

Anyway they had a protest today against the action taken by this stupid government to reopen the road before the construction works are completed. :P:P:P

"ammunition dumps", "military camps", "LTTE terrorism" and the so called war are different things. Attempting to link Salawa incident with a war zone is just stupid and it shows what your intention is.:rofl::rofl:

i heard camp was there since long time. its not only a camp its a military warehouse , kosgama situation is completely different. but keeping a camp in a city or village how its going to affect for peace of the people ??

Its not about peace or war. Normally military ammunition dumps are atleast 2.-3 square km away from civil habitation. If that precaution was made in kosgama this disaster is just a fire nothing more. But look at the gap in here between dump and the civil houses. just 100m part.

Almost is not enough. Billions in compensation money is not sl can afford right now. Surely there should be a party that responsible for this and should charged with.

    My Dear Friend,
Since you seems to have lots of opinions regarding this matter, go ahead and talk with a a senior person in Army or gov.
This is not the right place to argue where the camp should be. Let them know your ideas and tell them you're an expert and they will listen to you and do the needful.

No point of coming here and telling things in a public forum since no one from the responsible fields are going to notice it here.

Do it and comeback with the response you got from them. Then we can talk.

Freedom of speech is not only for gossips. I raise my voice where it should. It may be in a forum may be in security council. May be in parliament.
