ANGON – An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck central Myanmar on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake struck 143 km west of the city of Meiktila, the agency said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
According to social media reports, the quake was felt several hundred kilometres away in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok.
