can we ship a car from australia to sri lanka. ? i have an idea to buy a Tesla. My brother live in ausi i can ask him to make a pre order from Tesla web site. or is there any other way to order Tesla from sri lanka ?

You can, as long as you can pay the tax. I know a guy who shipped a Grand Vitara from Aus.

It is not the tax you should worry about. Think about the services, parts ..etc. There is not registered dealer in SL for Tesla, hence you would have to ship it back to AUS (or Singa) if you got any mechanical problem. Plus, from where are you going to service your vehicle during the warranty period?

actually I have a quite time for that. this car still in pre order status. when it comes to deliver it would be mid 2018 so at that time most probably somebody will start SL TESLA dealership . if not i hope we will be start .. this is good demanding business in SL since electric car has law tax schema

Iam not sure about that, i don't think there much people in sri lanka who can afford to buy a Tesla, I think very basic model start from USD 80K.That is nearly LKR 12 mil without tax.

no that they have introduced a car for affordable price. staring from 35,000 USD they are expecting develop in large scale.

What is the waiting period? You prolly have to stay at least 1 - 2 yrs i suppose.

ye but it doesn't matter this looks like a good car as a secondary car.
