Honda Ni-MH Hybrid batteries do not come with a 100% usable capacity. A brand new battery out of the factory would read at 75% capacity. This is done to prolong the use of the battery pack. The battery control module (BCM) in your car's hybrid system takes care of the battery by optimally charging and discharging the battery when needed between 20-75% of its charge.

When the BCM detects a fault with the battery, it would indicate to via the IMA amber indicator on the dashboard. When that happens you should then take to to a service station with a Honda Diagnostic System and read the error code. If the error code is for battery deterioration , your battery needs replacement. The IMA indicator will flash for battery deterioration if the usable capacity drops below 20% (15% in some models).

If your car's battery is still at 25% capacity, I wouldn't worry too much about it. From what I understand it can run without at issue for at least a year. It falls faster from 75% to the 30%s and then the drops slow down considerably. But then again my knowledge is based on the Civic Hybrid. If you really want to make sure, take it to a QUALIFIED technician who knows about Honda IMA.

Note: If someone resets the IMA system using HDS, the usable capacity will reset to 75%. This value will drop to the actual value after the car runs for a while.

Wow honda sucks

As I said earlier, it's done to improve the longevity of older Ni-MH batteries that come paired to the IMA system. From what I know this is not the case with the newer Lithium Ion batteries in Honda Hybrids.
In my vehicle, the usable capacity has fallen less than 10% for 60000 km in 3 years. Do the math and I'm quite ok with that mileage from a single battery.
