Ford Mondeo | Spare Key

Guys I bought a Ford Mondeo MK3 (2004 model year) yesterday!


Got one small problem. the previous owner gave me only one key for the car. said he didn't get a spare key from the person he bought it from..

it looks like this

Can somebody tell me where to get a replacement key like the one in the picture?

Uncut blanks are available on ebay but will the local locksmiths be able to cut such an awkward looking key with the equipment they have? Besides, even if they can, the only key available with the car is pretty much worn out so I think it can't be used as a template anyway..

I gave a call to local Ford agents (Softlogic) they said they didn't import the car so they are not sure if they can help me..

It turns out that in 2004 David Peiris had been the agents, but softlogic has taken over in 2009..

Any advise would be of great help

I guess local locksmiths would be able to cut a working key if the car doesn't come with an immobilizer unit

Sure.. I'll post a full review of the car.. so far it runs great! super comfortable and handling is so awesome..

First go to them and ask if they can cut the key.

yeah.. will try that.. any suggestion for a good place to get a key cut? cuz i'm pretty sure the regular key cutting machines won't be able to cut this particular key..
