Over the next two months, Apple contractor Wistron will begin producing iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE units out of facilities in Bangalore, India, The Wall Street Journal reports from sources.

This development comes as the company continues to fight with the government for extended tax relief and lightened regulations in order to open retail stores in the country.

“Apple is closely working with [the] government to move forward with its India plans. We want Apple to manufacture in India. They are also very keen,” said an unnamed official close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Infinite Loop has been ramping up production of older iPhone models such as the iPhone 6 in a 32GB memory configuration in India and Taiwan. It has partnered with Wistron to build distribution centers and manufacturing plants in the country to appease the Modi administration and its “Make in India” campaign.

Assembly lines should get humming in the next two months.
