I have a Micro car and this is true.

Last year we had a visit to micro and as their chairman said they could give us their cars more cheaper if the gvt reduced their taxes. according to micro they get taxed x2 times.
1st - to parts when they imppprt
2nd- to the vehicle when they have finished assembling.

Both gvts haven't given them any redcutions or a considerable suppport towards their development.

Main disadvantage of micro is the unavailability of service centres and parts islandwide and the price of the parts

Yet,they are a sri lankan company.the least the gvt could do is provide them support without draggin em down.

Still they have managed to capture 60% of the luxury bus market in sl.
But not so much in car market. (panda and all)

Another disadvantage is their horrific ASS.
I daresay it's the worst among the BN car importers in Sri Lanka - what they really need is a major overhaul from their show-rooms to their service centres.

They failed in producing fully SL built car..thts because of lack of sales and less profits...they hvnt had the island wide infastructure to mamage aftersales issues so they went to easy and more profitable methode assembling chinese cars...as far as i know thts when the former government weighed in

They cant build a fully operational car in srilanka.we dont even have the resources to do so.even when they did, how da fuck they can compete with japan cars.the least gvt could do was support and promote sri lnakan cars.


Atm the build quality is shit.

And abt micro panda, they onliny fix engine,tires,shock absorbers etc and seats etc. The whole body (chassy ) comes with windscreen,side screens, interior and dashboard from the geely company.they do nothing regarding the interior of the car and the body.
