Congratulations. But why on earth you bought i7 7700? AMD Ryzen 7 1700X is almost same price but definitely better than 4 core intel. Ryzen 1700X can easily OC to 4.0Ghz

me: hey i built a PC
    sri lankans: is it i7?
me: before you ask "is it i7?", you should 1st ask "is it AMD or intel"
    sri lankans: what is AMD?

There is a reason for that. AMD did not perform closer to intel till recent times. So everyone was like "intel it is". Even My 1st pc was a AMD one back in 2003. That was a fine piece. But comparing to an intel one, AMD was behind. The only pro was it was cheaper

I agreed before 2017 intel.is better but everything changed in 2017.

There's no point buying 4 core i7 when you can buy much better Ryzen 8 core CPU.

Yes, But again it changes when considering i7 8700K vs Ryzen 7 series. Also it depends on what you gonna do with it. Because If you need more cores you should go for Ryzen, But If you need single core performance, intel is the one to go.
