I'm in my 5th year at SAITM. As you guys already know there are loads of issues around saitm, so even though im in my 5th year (suppose to be my final year) we might most probably take at least 3 more years to pass out...and there is a possibility that that we will never get the approvals...KDU transfer also might not happen... Mainly these reasons and due to some personal reasons I'm thinking of dropping out

I'm already 26 now so idea is to start a business while doing a software engineering degree (i really love coding...i make small games n apps)
Ideally 5 days working on the business while doing the course in the weekends... So i would have a degree + experience + a business (or would learn a ton even if the business fails).

ACBT and ICBT both have software engineering degrees that we can do on the weekends.
1.) Do you guys know any other universities in Sri Lanka or abroad that offer software engineering degrees that we can do on the weekends?
2.) which is better for a software engineering degree, ACBT or ICBT or any other?

Really appreciate your help! Thanks a lot guys!

I think you have already burned around 60lks or so. If you enough money on hand just buy some land in a popular area, Build a 3 story building and rent it out. Don't waste it again by going abroad and things. Career-wise you'll be 30 when you graduate. You gonna have a tough time after that. When you turn 30 your brain stops working to do anything related to study. Just my cents

If you are going to follow private IT cource, currently IIT is the most recognized private institute in the industry, Most companies consider IIT as the best private IT institute.

    DONT!!
Unless you've got a dying passion for coding and is into areas such as neural networks, Machine Learning and Data Mining do NOT jump to software coding.
Even with some delays, your situation will resolve so be patient and continue with your medical studies.

    +1
enterprise level coding job/business is 10x stress than a medical doc. So better stay in your path.
But if you are talented, can make a lot more than average MBBS

Just continue with medicine. If you have already paid. Some solution will come in future.Do you have to pay more for the rest of the years?

Have a Dying passion to create Games :)
    Instagram post link = https://www.instagram.com/p/BcXnYPHDhim/
(Made 100% from scratch without using any assets etc... I did the coding, graphics, music n everything)
Idea is if i put more time into this, i could make really cool stuff that i can make a living of... Hopefully.

I would like to learn more about machine learning and neural networks... Just know some super basic stuff about those... Made a app that can tell you the type of skin rash you have when you take a picture of it (a very limited app)

It's a bad idea to try to get into the gaming industry bro?

I think this is true. Don't give up hope. Government will think about your side as well, just wait. Software Engineering side is very competitive sector now, nowadays there're 4,5 rounds interviews even to get an entry level IT/Programming job. (like sri lankan reality programs ) Thousands of fresh IT graduates coming into the industry every year, and many of them even work for under 25,000 salary for years and years. If you start IT job in your 30 (or even 28 or so) you can't expect very high salary at start & you'll be 35yrs old when you make over 100,000 most probably, unless you have super strong skill set or join one of the very few companies that pay well. And don't forget the stress as well, Programming jobs in other countries vs here (except very very few companies) is very different, very difficult to balance work-life. And at the end you'll need years maybe decades to earn back all the money you spent on education if you start your career in Programming in your 30s.
