The country was more westernized before 1960-1970s, even more than now. We had a cultural revolution after bandaranayake and everything got restricted culturally. To the point its almost a false culture we have right now.
We (as a Sinhalese ) never had an issue with naked women in ancient times, for example some castes never covered their boobs.

Same with the sex, it was more liberal, sex before marriage was a normal thing, people shared their wives and daughters with the guests (1), even kings had gay sex (recorded).
