The best course of action would be removing the post with infected software and keeping the thread closed - that way, users will be compelled to scan everything they download from EK before opening/installing. Adding a malware warning to the opening post would help too.
Some common sense is required when dealing with pirated software, closing or deleting threads won't do anything. It'll just turn to a game of whack-a-mole between forum members and administrators![]()
AT LEAST POSTING THE ADVICE at the top most IS BETTER.
You can't cater foolishness of users but it is unethical just leaving people danger if you can do simple actions to avoid.
If you found something wrong, first action is to be removing the infected part. At least INFORMING THE DANGER in first post is the effective way of passing message. posting last comment and closing doesn't make much sense. Common sense is atleast knowing people read from the first comment.



. All my backups are linked to my computer if it encrypts all the drives I will be gone. What is the solution, I can backup the C drive to an external drive but how do you backup all of Google and One drive?
