In the ancient time South Indian Tamils used to invade Sri Lanka for centuries time to time.
Then came the Colonial period for 500 years since 1505.
After that there were ethnic conflicts between Tamils & Sinhalese AND JVP riots, Harthal, Protests, Strikes, ... etc till 1983
We all know what happened since 1983 to 2009
Peace time as well as the war time is not to last forever.
those sinhala-tamil and similar ethnic clashes died out as the socio-economical background changed. this is beyond social structure and economical state. they are united over a single belief that oppose all other belief systems.
