It was a masterpiece. Above all it shows the reliability of the components at that time. Most electronics would have been transistor /TTL/CMOS based. The Z80 was launched in 1976 and probably would not have been into this spacecraft.
Also it has a radioactive power source. At that era it was designed by brilliant people.

Later on the biggest problem was Chinese fakes which probably last 42 days.
