First electric car in sri lanka

The first electric car that was made on Sri Lankan soil was Viduliya 1, which was designed and manufactured in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Moratuwa. The project was led by Prof. P.A. De Silva in 1977. This Photograph shows young Prof. P.A. De Silva with his car and had been captured by Prof. Joseph Rohan Lucas. Although it was 4 decades away from where we stand now, this legacy will always be the driving force and a constant reminder of who we are!
