A group of us bought a 7 acre property in Gampola area and did both Greenhouse & hydroponic farming. It's not cheap to start the infrastructure. We didn;t lose, the product was readily sold and in fact major supermarkets were calling in to get the harvest. It's a bit temperature dependent and we had to use large slow fans on wet coir radiators to cool down. Then the energy costs come in. Also there's damage caused by wild animals. I wasn't actively involved other than for funding and eventually we sold the property with everything in it as our main partner who had the expertise in greenhouse farming fell sick. We didn't lose on the on the harvest or on the land sale. But it's not so simple to do either. Good luck.
