Friends asking for a friend, do you really need a IT Degree to join WILEY / Pearson / Virtusa / WSO2 / SysCo , is there anyone joined as Engineer / Senior Engineer level without a first degree and with only work experience,
or they wont get the interview call even,
    Anyone working there can confirm

Yes, definitely you will need an IT degree to come abroad these companies. You cannot get inside only with work experience. May be you might have marvelous work experiences and skill set, but to show off your talents, they got to call an interview for you right? They won't do it unless you have some basic IT related degree in your resume at all. (Btw I'm working at WILEY, that is why I know. I'm positive that recruiting story of every company you mentioned here is the same)

virtusa - depend on your salary package. If you are ready to work low wage then definitely they will hire you.

other places - degree is required for an interview call otherwise you won't be shortlisted whatever you are talented or not but you need a chance to show off your skill but without interview calling how can you do it

Nop . Virtusa not hire non it degree people anymore. With new management salary also competitive and hard for anyone to get in unless you have degree level qualification

Let aside be the degree, it is hard to get into something like WSO2 and Sysco if you have a first class.

But in most cases Degree is a must to jump from a Trainee position to a Associate Position. I knew someone, who jumped to SSE just before Graduating. But it needs Luck, Skill, Passion and Dedication

I think you cannot, unless you have a connection from the inside to set the initial interview.

Probably M.Sc in CS will do it. Some associate engineer positions might ask something like this 👇

    Quoted from Associate SE position.

But positions like 'Business Analyst' or some sort of specialized positions may ask IT related degrees. It depends. If you are about to start your career from the associate position, equivalent degree will do the job.

There is a director in WSO2 who graduated in Civil Engineering but a while back.

    මම දන්න විදිහට WSO2 එකේ පුළුවන්. හැබැයි technical interview එක පාස් උනොත්.

    මෙයා දන්න විදිහට CS කරපු එක්කෙනක් නෙවෙයි. අහලා තියෙන විදිහට IT field එකට එන්න ඕනේ නිසා BCS වගේ CS/IT related ඒවා කරලා knowledge එක හදා ගෙන.

    Hi bro,

    WILEY / Pearson / Virtusa / WSO2 / SysCo

For these companies you need a degree. They run BGV (Background Verifications). So you need to have a degree. it's mandatory. To be precise i worked on all above except WILEY 😄

As an exception In WSO2 you can join without a degree, but you will be joining as an associate engineer which your salary will be around 80K.

so if someone join WSO2 as associate engineer and manage to become a associate technical lead or something, still he can't join other companies in the above list as he does not have the bsc in cs?

well, I doubt Wiley and Virtusa... but I don't think that's the case with Pearson, WSO2, and Sysco ...

but, having one would always be a plus point. but it doesn't mean you must. if you are talented enough and have proven yourself, then that's fine.
