I am happy at least one person had understood the reality. In these countries Marriage is not a big issue specially among educated or rich people. If you bother to go to such a country they ask your wife is ''legal" or not . We get offended but for them it is normal to ask as some are living in "de facto" relationship till they die. Unlike SL de facto partner inherits to property as same as legal wife. Strange? So in simple term for a couple who had decided to live in "de facto"relationship postponement of marriage is not as same as postponement of marriage in Sri Lanka. I know in these countries there are lot of rich people who are not married but have very successful lives under de facto arrangements. So my point if just dont compare apples with oranges . That is all!
(we may value marriage and even Poruwa etc but in totally different culture they may not be significant)
(This is not a political issue but just wanted to show the reality in this kind of statements. I do not want to justify Mrs Ardon's private life or our leaders who go to any extent to have a wedding. Two vastly different cultures two Reponses !)
