ECONOMYNEXT â Sri Lanka has started a technology park in Galle, one of a series planned by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in his economic program to make the country a tech hub.
These technology parks will be located in Galle, Kurunegala, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Habarana.
President Rajapaksa visited the site of the Walahanduwa Technology Park in Galle on February 17, to unveil the project plaque and inspected the site, his office said. The President also launched the official logo of the Galle Technology Park.
The tech parks are aimed at drawing foreign investments, encouraging new companies, promoting exports and creating jobs.
The tech park on a 30 acre site will be completed by 2023. It will have 350,000 square feet for tech companies and start up with 5G telecom facilities,
