True.... Copied FYI from one of my old posts on another thread......

"The Chinese involvement in Africa didn't start recently. About three years ago we toured several countries in Africa for nearly a month. On our return we took a flight from Kenya. It was a Kenyan Air, flying to Guangzhou via BKK and we were to get off in BKK.
I was a bit surprised to see that all passengers were Chinese except us. A Chinese girl sat next to me. So casually I asked whether she could speak English and started a conversation, told her that I have not seen so much Chinese tourists when I travelled around but this flight is full of them. She said, she isn't a tourist, neither the passengers are. They all live in Africa.
Told me that her father was paid by the Chinese government in the 1960's to arrive in Africa and settle down. China advised them that Africa is fertile and the future if you migrate and settle, start farming and commerce. There's a big community of Chinese in there. She was just visiting her father's relatives back in China.

This is exactly what they did many years ago.... Now their tactics changed to granting loans. Chinese are a cunning race no matter what you guys think."

No idea... I have been to Brazil, Argentina, Chile and beyond upto Tierra-Del-Fugo, Ushuaia - Gateway to the Antarctic. As a visitor only. I am not so sure about working in these countries but they have something called MERCOSUR, (Mercado Común del Sur) visa- a sort of an South American country alliance.
