What will happen to tech companies in SL? Will the same trend continue?

Can someone who had been in Sri Lankan IT industry during 2008-2009 recession explain what happened in Sri Lanka?
2008-2009 wala una widiyai danui compare karana be ban

SL comapines are now looking at overseas businesses --> USD payments.

So if businesses start shrinking overseas there will be a direct impact to our businesses in SL.

Lankawe customersla dan echara ganan ganne ne. Because doing business in LKR is useless.

I think those job opportunities will come to india, china etc.
even though they want to control the US/local hiring (salaries, expenses) they don't want to reduce their development or tech progress. Because of that as they reduce US hiring, they will increase the hiring from other countries where they can get the same tech/knowledge for lower cost.

That's the time Virtusa did a big layover that brought them negative publicity to this day. Nothing major happened atleast where I worked (interned :P ). Only concern was that LTTE has started bombing around Colombo after truce ended and it impacted some industries.
