No plans for a theme park in SL – Walt Disney

The internationally famed Walt Disney Company has no plans at present to open a themed park in Sri Lanka, The Sunday Times reports.

The company had informed the weekend newspaper following a query by The Sunday Times, in the wake of State Tourism Minister Diana Gamage’s controversial comments that a theme park was planned and that she would leave for the US to discuss the matter.

However, according to The Sunday Times, when the paper contacted the state minister regarding the issue, Gamage had stated that she has started discussions with Disney regarding opening a theme park in Sri Lanka but had decline to mention who she was in contact with or give further details.
