When the central bank needs USD they ask from the locals through this instrument, calling SLDB ,
SLDB is auction, who has USD in the country, they bid according to the frame, 18 months 24 months, Rate we can demand such as 10% like that , if the central bank accepts our bid then, then it will be like an FD in USD, But now these burgers when coming to the maturity (16-03-2023) they telling we don't have USD to settle, if you need we can pay with LKR,

The sheer absurdity of such a proposition is truly mind-boggling. It is indeed a lamentable fact that there are individuals in our midst who are so lacking in intellectual prowess that they resort to such ridiculous and harebrained explanations. It is individuals of this ilk that are responsible for the proliferation of the most imbecilic politicians in Sri Lanka, and one cannot but help feeling a sense of despair and hopelessness at the thought of their continued existence.
