MIT researchers have been working on this for quite a while and it was first announced in 2020. Probably not this particular drug but the work was ongoing.
The first drug was named "Halicin" after the famous HAL - the AI computer in 2001 A Space Odyssey.

When it comes to SL and generally Asians, for any sickness whether bacterial or viral, straight away take anti-biotics like lollies. If you don't prescribe, they visit another doctor the next time. Otherwise straight to the pharmacy. They don't listen to advise but believe all the nonsense in Fakebook.

The WHO lists AMR as one of the top 10 threats to Global Health. Antimicrobial resistance threatens human and animal health and welfare, the environment, food and nutrition security and safety.
By 2050, up to 10 million deaths could occur annually. AMR in mycobacterium tuberculosis, malaria parasites, viruses, and HIV is becoming a reality that could increase human suffering.
