Yes, similar advancements in genetic therapy that we thought would replace the need for doctors since the genetic mapping of the human genome and the cloning of Dolly. but still, we have a long way to go. The same is true for the neural networks, which need to be trained with proper data sets, backpropagation and tuning and adjustments, so it is not that easy to replace a neural network for general software utility. These needed very large processing power that needed quantum computing to provide such a service to the entire population. but someday we will reach that, and I predict that is at least beyond 10 to 15 years. So, we are good to go.

Device inputs (audio video, touch etc) directly feed into a neural net, the outputs of it directly display as audio/video on speaker/screen, that’s it.

Experts disagree. And we are not the ones taking decisions.
Do you really think large enterprises would use a black box to control their businesses? Not in this generation. A slight mistake in the trained model will cost millions of dollars and no one would be able to find what the hell went wrong.

Do you really think humans have better accuracy? San Francisco and some Chinese cities now have full self driving vehicles ffs. And this is the worst the tech is going to be. It will just keep improving.

Its not about the accuracy. Humans will always want to know how the results were derived. A NN itself doesn’t know this. It just gives an output based on the parameter adjustments it made during the learning phase.

And NN will never (for a long time) produce something new if humans stop producing new knowledge. Thats why adobe changed their licence, and open AI is looking for developers to solve basic algorthm problems wile explaining shit to an AI.
